Autologous Blood Injection Therapy for tendinopathy
نویسنده
چکیده
Results Autologous blood injection therapy has been shown to have a significant positive effect on both pain and joint function, with concomitant therapies not being demonstrated to be required in the management of tendinopathy. However, the majority of studies were representative of patients being treated for refractory epicondylitis with different procedure techniques being employed. No studies compared blood re-injection therapy with dry needling alone, with minimal data available from controlled studies preventing a placebo response from being ruled out.

Autologous growth factor injections in chronic tendinopathy: a systematic review.
Chronic degenerative tendinopathies are frequent and difficult to treat. Tendon healing and regeneration may be improved by injecting autologous growth factors obtained from the patient's blood. Autologous growth factors can be injected with autologous whole blood or platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Electronic databases were searched for prospective clinical trials on treatment with autologous growt...

متن کاملAutologous Tenocyte Injection for the Treatment of Chronic Recalcitrant Gluteal Tendinopathy
BACKGROUND Gluteal tendinopathy is a common cause of lateral hip pain, and existing conservative treatment modalities demonstrate high symptom recurrence rates. Autologous tenocyte injection (ATI) is a promising cell therapy that may be useful for the treatment of gluteal tendinopathy. PURPOSE To investigate the safety and effectiveness of ATI, specifically in patients with chronic recalcitra...
متن کاملClinical Applications of Platelet-Rich Plasma in Patellar Tendinopathy
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a blood derivative with high concentrations of platelets, has been found to have high levels of autologous growth factors (GFs), such as transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), fibroblastic growth factor (FGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and epidermal growth factor (EGF). These GFs and other biological active prote...

OBJECTIVES To report outcomes after sclerosing, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and autologous blood injection therapies as a treatment for tendinopathy. METHODS We searched Pubmed for clinical trials on sclerosing, PRP and autologous blood injections for tendinopathy. We scored the quality of the studies using a modified Coleman Methodological Score (CMS) with 9 criteria, which results in a final...
